Width Allowances

A total allowance (in width) of 100mm is required with our “Eye to Rear” hinges above. This allowance is for the centre gap of 12mm and the Hinges & Hangers, 44mm on each side

Example: A pair of 1.800m gates, require an opening (“OPE”) of 3.700m

A total allowance of 225mm is required with our “Ordinary’ hinges above. This allowance is for the centre gap of 13mm and the Hinges and Hangers, 106mm on each side.

Example: A pair of 1.800m gates, require an opening (“OPE”) of 3.825m

Height Allowances

A minimum allowance of 38 mm is required from the top of the gate to the underside of the capping. A minimum allowance of 38 mm is required from the bottom of the gate to the ground. In total, the height allowance, over and above the actual height of the gate is a minimum of 76mm.

Example: A 1.800m high gate, requires a height of 1.876m from the ground up to the underside of the capping.
